This is our finished film, we added things like jump cuts and shaky zooms to make it seem more like a documentary than a "feature film". The lighting wasn't very good as it was indoors and at night, this gives the film a grainy quality. We had to improvise as four people dropped out of the filming or couldn't make it, this meant we had to account for the absence of two characters in the film by improvising a new scenario. Vikki had to act to replace the third missing character. Also, one of the bands ended up being made up of only two members rather than three. We added bits where the camera was being moved or people didn't know what to say to camera or made a mistake as this was more realistic and again made the film more like a documentary.
We used iMovie to edit the film, a programme neither of us had used before, it was very simple to use and the editing didn't take long at all. The editing was a very important part of our film as it is what makes it look like a documentary. We didn't use any effects such as dissolve, fade or slow motion as we wanted our film to look natural and raw, for this we used techniques such as jump cuts and simple cuts. We used short takes as the film is only short and we wanted to time jump a little, we also wanted a lot of material to use for jump cuts and to make it seem like it had been filmed over a whole night with "boring" bits edited out. We didn't add any incidental music or non-diegetic sound throughout the film as mockumentaries don't generally do this. We added credits and a short piece of music to end the film, this rounds the film off and does not deviate from the mockumentary style as it lists the cast members etc but it also looks like the end of a documentary.
